Also, here are a few recent news articles of interest I wanted to share with you:

DuPage Policy Journal

There is a lot more to this story than this short article. When the whole story is told - and I am working on it - you will be appalled at the cavalier way government and its associated vendors seek to control the lives of those who truly need government support.

I am not finished with this fight. My bill would have saved money. You should know Gov. Rauner's staff at the Department of Human Services (DHS) worked to shut this bill down. The Democrat Senators are hopeless proponents of big government solutions and reject the notion that family knows best. But make no mistake, DHS should have solved this 2 years ago when the federal courts stepped in and ordered them to fund these families.

Now, on to property taxes, home values and why more and more families are leaving Illinois. Property taxes are up, while relative home value increases are lowest in the region:

Starting today, the Illinois House of Representatives is scheduled to remain in session every day until our scheduled adjournment on May 31, the deadline to pass a new state budget for FY 2019, which begins this summer on July 1.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update. I will keep you posted on developments from Springfield.
